"Finding Cupcakes" Blog Review

Blogger of "Finding Cupcakes" is a young woman "discovering the sweet things in life"- literally. She travels from city to city tasting and encountering different foods and cultures. One of her most recent blogs was titled "mercadito- mastering the art of tacos and tequila." She begins by explaining that Mercadito, which means 'Little Market' in Spanish, is an extremely popular restaurant in Chicago. She gives more to the meaning of eating out through her way of describing the cuisine. In order to make the food that shes gawking over sound more appealing, she uses things like personification to describe it. For example, "Ripe avocados are getting sliced and ready to mingle with ingredients such as mango, pomegranate, and even sweet potato in what will inevitably become some of the best damn guacamole you will ever have." Thats just a beautiful sentence, if you ask me. She also uses a wide variety of diction like "vibrant ambiance", "especially delicious" and "unrivaled" to describe the food, and as for the chefs and bartenders, they are "concocting wizards."
I found this blog appealing because I myself have a passion for food. Growing up in an Italian family that runs resteraunts, I couldnt escape food. So reading her recommendations and places she has gone to urge me to want to do the same. Discover the world through food :) mmmm
